Orchid

Yesterday I read the book written by vithal kamat  titled “Idli, the orchid and the will power”. It was a story of  vithal kamat who aspire to become entrepreneur.  He explains his journey from his childhood  to entrepreneur. I would suggest people to read this book. Its just only not for entrepreneur aspirants but everybody who want to be a human. He emphasizes the good qualities, discipline that everyone shud inculcate to prove as a human being. We can see the fruits of his kindness, discipline in the later point of his orchid journey. One thing that surprised me was the value he gave to his father. He was taking suggestions from his father every time till his father was alive. There was a moment in his life where he has decided to commit suicide. But his comeback to establish orchid was fantastic and worth reading. I was emotional while reading his hard ship days and few scenes like where he seeks blessings from his mother to get a loan worth crores.

There are so many things I want to write here but I cannot do so. The must mention specialty of the hotel is that orchid is a ecotel eco friendly hotel.  There was one chapter in the book that explains how each and every part in the hotel was made. Its really tough to understand as there is so much science involved in it .  Definitely environmental friendly hotel needs a lot of it of course. Their principle is  recycle, reuse everything.  Finally he proves that the business ideas and human values are equally important for an entrepreneur. After I read his book I can say that kamat deserves orchid. I will try to visit orchid if I go to mumbai next time definitely.

Fate of my Flights

Its no wonder when my last flight journey canceled after I received a short notice from my friend at IIT. Reasons cannot be explained here though weird. So I have to cancel the ticket. Last time I traveled to chennai and it is so pain to travel in sleeper class especially in summer. So this time few days ahead I booked air deccan flight to chennai as per notice from my prof.  Three days after that I canceled. This has not happened first time that I booked and canceled. ACtually this is the third time. First time I booked for my synopsis meeting to reach chennai. Everything was set and I got a short notice that It has postponed nearly one month. So I have to reschedule it . So thinking for almost so many hours I scheduled my journey to Hyderabad on aug 14th. This is to enjoy the holidays that includes aug 15th holiday also. But due to unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances I have to cancel this also.  So I have booked flight journey 4 times in my life so far and could able to travel only once and rest the three journeys canceled and of course with bonus of money loss also. Next time I have to go to chennai, I am not going to book flight. I will book train so that I wont disappoint even it gets cancelled.

 

A lot can happen over a beer ……….

World’s Wonderful Women (WWW)

The days have changed. Once a fact that guys have much control and dominant over relationship with girls, but now, days have a different picture. Girls started to think and “its better to dump than getting dumped” was their tag line now. They have tuned their mindset according to current racy world. Now girls are in the same position whatever guys used to be in the past. They don’t care to date one more guy if they were not interested with the previous guy. The separation is initiated from the girl’s side if she is no longer happy. This is the same trend from a celebrity girl to a normal girl.  These days guys are being emotional and imbibing the qualities that girls used to possess.

Its no longer a surprise for me when super senior of my college asked me to inquire about a girl in some college before his engagement. Earlier girls or girl’s parents used to do the same job. In one my friends friend’s marriage alliance, the girl demanded salary slip. The guy was shocked and he would be expecting that in a different way from their parents. Girls have their own priorities and preferences as they realized that they are less to none and competing in every aspect. In one of my distant relatives alliance, girl rejected guy on spot (these things rarely happens in south. so its surprise).  When one of my friends is searching for a suitable girl in matrimony sites, almost every girl seeking bachelor settled in US, UK etc with CTC mentioned sometimes. Its a trend that one should not be surprised or shocked as it is going to prevalent across entire India very soon.

So guys….be careful. keep the momentum and make yourself fit in any situation.

Lets be innovative

Have you tried anything new and made something special that makes you separate from the crowd. or Are you just part of mechanical life which prevents you from thinking and makes you work like a programmed system. If you are part of second category just go reading ahead..you might find this useful. If you are part of first category you are privileged to comment on this article.

I admit that I belong to second category. But I crave for doing something innovative. From my personal observation the little innovative things that you do might lead to very bigger things. Here are a few tips for the people I would like to give from my personal thoughts. People will have so many requirements in their daily life that starts from your bed rise to your night sleep. When you have some requirement you try to satisfy it or fit in with the existing stuff available that helps you to do so. But just think that “Is what you want to do is 100% fulfilled?” or you are trying to adjust yourself. This is the thin line which needs to be concentrated. If you can think at some point that some requirement of you is not satisfied with the available things in the world. Just think…now…how to satisfy them? It makes a lot of difference.

Krishna Bhagat who is the head of Google research Blore discovered google news out of his own requirement. Initially he wants to read interesting news about so many things from all the news sites available. If its me I will visit every news site available and read those news. But KB does in a different way. He has written his own program that aggregates the news. He dont know that it will become famous very soon after it came live.  At google people can spend 20% of their bandwidth outside to whatever they work. He did this and presented to their colleagues. It was applauded and landed as Google News. So guys if you have any requirement dont get convinced with what you do it to satisfy with the existing things available. Think differently and make sure that it gets accomplished fully. In the same way Linus Torvalds have started writing linux to satisfy his own needs. So many OSs exist at that time but he though differently. Later it became Linux and he started something called open source which became very popular that has sent ripples to commercial softwares.

The common idea that is prevailing across software minds is come up with a innovative site which attracts millions of users to it. If you can do it…you are done. A major software firm will acquire it and pay you loads of money. Just remind what happened to youtube. To do these things two types of innovation currently going on in www world. One is come up with something that aggregates the existing data on the web which is spread over millions of sites and project in the user friendly or user customizable way.  Really a user should appreciate that it really helps him. Somebody aggregated news and it became google news. Somebody aggregated events all over india it became eventsinindia.com. Somebody aggregated the flights availability..it became makemytrip.com. They are popular too. I can name number of sites here which became popular here.

The second way is to provide space to people to upload some kind of data on to it. Somebody uploaded videos it became youtube. Somebody photos..it became flickr. Somebody blogs….it became blogspot. This is quite costly initially as user has to get space for hosting his website. So is it appearing to you that innovation over web might be easy. It will be easy if you think differently. Apart from what is obvious you get ultimate satisfaction that you have achieved something worth to be achieved.

 

U Me and We

Confused by the title…….it is the translated title of a hindi movie u me aur hum. Starring kajol and ajay. Both are off screen couple and portrayed on screen chemistry with a nice undercurrent message. My rating to ajay devgan as a director for this movie is above average. I felt the direction of this movie is  really tough as it involves lot of emotions. Few songs are worth listening. Coming to story….you were taken almost to 25 years back to show scenes that establishes bond between kajol and ajay. The flirting part here by ajay devgan is worth watching.  Our mind starts predicting when the story goes. But it is difficult to predict until second half. A different story with nice narration and worth watching for youth and family. The elements like love and emotions and carefully handled.

 

Intermittent and Inconsistent

Wonder….what the title refer to. They refer to my life time aims and goals. I can honor myself saying that I am goalless fellow. Rather than saying less..I have more but not yet accomplished. I sometimes get confused by the way our life moves. Whether destiny decides or you are solely responsible. When I used to study my 5th standard, I am very much interested in playing cricket and imitating sachin . When somebody asks me “What do you want to become?” my answer was cricketer. More than batting, I was very much  in to spin bowling trying different kind of spins like off-break , leg-break etc. My interest was faded gradually as my father did not allowed me to play. Life went on like that for some days. For some days I remember I want to become cop. My mom is not interested as its a risky job (her personal opinion). I dropped that also. After few days, under movies influence, I want to become music director for sometime and choreographer for sometime. I used to make sounds on benches by hearing different tunes from the movies. I used to reproduce every tune I heard on benches, walls what not …or any wooden material. Father used to shout “stop your stupid noise”. I used to like dance very much. Hence the interest of becoming choreographer.

Whenver I see some dance good, I used practice that at my home. Ask me where? not on the floor but on the bed. I used to jump, scream, dance…fall..get up . Mom scolded..cot will break and your father will kill you. I started practising on the floor but its difficult to jump, fall and getup.  School got over. now I am in +2. My interest is now shifted to become IITian and software engineer. The main reason is that my brother-in-law is a software engineer and he is very popular in our family. The reason for becoming IITian is bcoz I heard that world will respect every IITian.  But my attempts to become IITian were not fruitful after +2. Now I am in to engineering and my goals are different. I am suddenly in to penning telugu lyrics unknowingly. I was very much interested and used to take active participation in poetry competitions. Now I want to become lyricist. I used to observe lyrics written by every telugu lyricist and tried to write on my own. Four years went on like this.

Now I moved to IIT for my masters. Hey I became IITian…:).  My goal is now to become a computer science researcher and work on cutting edge technology. Now I moved to job. Can any one guess whats my goal now? The goal is now not to keep any goals. I dont have any major goals except a few career oriented goals.

My goals are intermittent and inconsistent and irregular

 

Untold things

While I am coming to the office, I came across a girl who is very beautiful. I wanna stop by her side and want to say “you are damn beautiful”. But I cannot as I am a stranger to her and it would be weird if you say so without any previous introduction.  I was just thinking about this and went on and on years back and there were really too many things which were untold and were stopped behind the tongue. Those words are not just about females but to people like father, boss, teacher, friend etc. Sometimes I would like to say ” I love you” to a pretty girl and sometimes ” you **** man” to my teacher. Sometimes “I cant do this and do whatever u want” to my father. The list goes on and on and my life will be at risk if I enumerate them here. I guess everyone will have certainly one like this which many not be expressed or untold due to fear, doubt etc etc.

I am sure even though a person can be dare and dynamic, even he might have these experiences and untold things that may not have come out of your mouth. But surprisingly after thinking deeper, I figured out sometimes things might work if that untold thing becomes a told thing. Also sometimes things might turn bad also. But personally I regret that I have so many untold things which still sleeping in my heart. So its ur decision to make it conveyed or not conveyed.

 

Bosses and their bullshit

Hey…guys if you are a boss , dont read this. Close this page and do your work. Otherwise you might be hurt or you might change yourself in to a nice person.  Just a precautionary warning for the bosses. The following info is based on the people I met and we talked about their bosses and their peculiar characteristics. There was a guy who was not well and bunked office for the same. He got a call from his colleague saying that the boss is angry. Next question is but why? The answer is obviously a stupidly smart misunderstanding by boss. These bosses do this kind of things thinking that they are the most intelligent people on the earth and they can read the mind of other people.  Coming to the point……the reason why boss was angry is that “he thinks that my friend is taking the job casually (which is not in real). He also thinks that my friend is very rich  and he does not need any money. He is just working for job sake and not taking it seriously”. Should I tell you why did he landed on to these conclusions. Once my friend went to a place by flight and came back by flight. The boss came to know this and he started drawing his own imagination picture and making improper conclusions. Bloody how much a flight costs man ..just 2k bucks hardly.  My friend was so upset after listening to this and in reality he badly needs money.  We cannot change a persons character and thinking unless he is willing to change.

Guys..you might wonder how can people like this exist. Believe me ..trust me…such kind of people do exist on this earth. You are very lucky if you  did not come across such characters.  One more friend told me that his boss has discussed something with his team about something. The next day the boss got a mail from his friend which is more or less related to that “something”. The boss started suspecting that these guys might have passed the information to his friend. In fact,  the relationship between these guys and his friend does not exist in the first place.  See how imagination can be so cruel and crude. Next day he called these guys and started scolding indirectly.

Thanks god…I dont have suck kind of bosses right now. There is a strange problem with these too intelligent people. The sometime use their intelligence for unnecessary things. They think they can easily imagine what might have happened and what is going to happen by just talking to people and observing their expressions. They just draw their own picture of imagination and derives conclusions. I say..its all in your mind. Its just that you are watching through wrong lens.  So guys…look through your heart but dont look through you mind.
