Cricket

Past 45 days, evenings were spent by watching IPL matches. By the time I though it was too much of cricket I got used to it. But yesterday was the closing ceremony and am damn sure I will feel bored after going home. It was a fantastic business idea which fetched them crores. I have read in somewhere that the business strategy and IPL is going be taught in one of the top business schools. Not only the IPL, the ads which comes between overs are too creative. Vodafone doggy’s ad is the one I liked the most. Even this ad invoked controversies where animal protection society has filed a case saying that dog has been tortured. There were so many creative ads which I dont remember at the moment, but captured attention even they were played for few seconds between those nerve breaking overs. IPL proved so many points about the planning, the play and the execution. Some teams whose players are individually strong but failed as a team. Some teams who has started like a bang ended up losing even without reaching semi finals. Some teams whose players are not individually the best but as a team they proved something. Even though lot of cricket involved in IPL there exists business side as an undercurrent. It involves controversies too starting from bhajji slapping to vijay malya’s furore to cheer leaders presence on the ground. Half of the Hollywood that has involved in IPL made  it much more attractive. Finally..kisi ko man of the match mila, kisi ko heroine mila..phir appko kya mila…

Wonder….what the title refer to. They refer to my life time aims and goals. I can honor myself saying that I am goalless fellow. Rather than saying less..I have more but not yet accomplished. I sometimes get confused by the way our life moves. Whether destiny decides or you are solely responsible. When I used to study my 5th standard, I am very much interested in playing cricket and imitating sachin . When somebody asks me “What do you want to become?” my answer was cricketer. More than batting, I was very much  in to spin bowling trying different kind of spins like off-break , leg-break etc. My interest was faded gradually as my father did not allowed me to play. Life went on like that for some days. For some days I remember I want to become cop. My mom is not interested as its a risky job (her personal opinion). I dropped that also. After few days, under movies influence, I want to become music director for sometime and choreographer for sometime. I used to make sounds on benches by hearing different tunes from the movies. I used to reproduce every tune I heard on benches, walls what not …or any wooden material. Father used to shout “stop your stupid noise”. I used to like dance very much. Hence the interest of becoming choreographer.

Whenver I see some dance good, I used practice that at my home. Ask me where? not on the floor but on the bed. I used to jump, scream, dance…fall..get up . Mom scolded..cot will break and your father will kill you. I started practising on the floor but its difficult to jump, fall and getup.  School got over. now I am in +2. My interest is now shifted to become IITian and software engineer. The main reason is that my brother-in-law is a software engineer and he is very popular in our family. The reason for becoming IITian is bcoz I heard that world will respect every IITian.  But my attempts to become IITian were not fruitful after +2. Now I am in to engineering and my goals are different. I am suddenly in to penning telugu lyrics unknowingly. I was very much interested and used to take active participation in poetry competitions. Now I want to become lyricist. I used to observe lyrics written by every telugu lyricist and tried to write on my own. Four years went on like this.

Now I moved to IIT for my masters. Hey I became IITian…:).  My goal is now to become a computer science researcher and work on cutting edge technology. Now I moved to job. Can any one guess whats my goal now? The goal is now not to keep any goals. I dont have any major goals except a few career oriented goals.

My goals are intermittent and inconsistent and irregular :(

The other day I am watching test cricket between India and Australia, I was totally upset with the things which made India lose match. The so called ” World Champions” showed their all kinds of gimmicks, mind games and grabbed the win. The decisions of umpires was an added advantage for them. I dont understand their motto against complaining about bhajji to referee. He is just a fellow player and verbal exchange of words are just common in a sport of cricket. Both said something to each other, how can he complain just like a small children. I was at total disappointment after hearing this. If we discuss the facts it was Australians who will resort to such kinds of nonsense than any other team in the world. If you have something just leave at the ground, why do you want take it to a higher level? Hayden added to it saying “We got a strong case against them”. This is sounding bullshit. Be silent or resolve between you. This is not good kangaroos……………….

I was observing in the last day of the test that every ball which is not picked up by bat is a claim by Australians, especially symonds. I dont know what they have thought in the dressing room. It was excessive claiming. If India does it a complaint could have been registered at ICC. Clarke who gave a clean catch to Dravid is still waiting for the Umpires decision. Mr.Clarke what are you waiting for? This is called catch you have to walk!!! Ricky ponting who nicked the ball is looking surprisingly against umpire. Kangaroos…you are great actors also. When there almost 6 to 7 men around dravid the ball just touched pads and went to the hands of the fielder behind, which was again a louder claim to umpire. Umpire just gave it. Poor dravid walked away . Ricky who landed the catch on to ground is claiming and was showing a feeling of shock on his face when umpire turned off to it. Mr. Ricky! you ended the catch on the ground. Dont get suprised…its not even touched Dhoni’s bat. So many incidents like this….its just one match which opened the real truth of champions which is hiding behind.

I dont understand is this professionalism????. I dont know what happens when somebody becomes professionals. Their mind will think in the most odd way. Be professional even when you lose or gain. Professionalism is related to the attitude of a person not to his achievement. Professionals……Please act in the professional way.

Its not diwali….its not any other cultural festival….but this night is somewhat special which glowed not less like any other day and generated unlimited decibels sound. Yes…..this is the day where the young team of India crowned with TT cricket World Cup. I can say that the matches of 20-20 world cup especially when India played are worth watching than any other match in the history of cricket. The match is decided only at the last moment where nobody can predict what might turn the match. This is what happened even for the final also. Me , navrose and hp are watching the final yesterday. We are very upset because pakistan is in a decent position to crack the final easily. We are happy when especially runs were controlled by bowlers like pathan, rp and couple of wickets were gone. we are just relaxing and enjoying breath taking moments of every ball. Harbhajan is bowling the 17th over and we have absolutely no worries as he is bowling well. Last three balls…………three sixes……………………..we are almost tensed and unable to stand the those tensed moments. It is like they are snatching the victory from Indian jaws. Sreesanth came for bowling and he gave one more six. We became hopeless and looked at each other with dim faces. The tension that we faced on that day is incomparable even with the Indian team also. Finally in the last over when joginder is bowling we almost lose 99.99% hopes but still waiting any miracle can be possible in 20-20 similar to what happened when India playing against pakis in league. We have seen a huge six which turned the whole match towards pakistan. Pakistan were just one six away to grab the world cup. Misbah is the culprit who is responsible for making us witness such moments. But the ball that yoginder throwed turned in to a catch in to a hands of sreesanth and I am in a shock whether India won. Yes…………………screamings everywhere and crackers blasted outside. We screamed like anything and very very happy as India became world champions.

We celebrated like anything , we ordered dominos pizza and ate in the candle light. Iam very much impressed by the way the Indian team performed in this tournament. This is another example that team effort is always fruitful. Dhoni’s captaincy is amazing, the way he handled bowlers spell and fielding …anything is simply superb. Finally an underestimated team …almost a team which has no expectations has get us a World cup by defeating all time favorites like paksitan, australia and england. I hope now Indian cricket is in safe hands to make us watch so many winning moments in future.

Congratulations……………Indian Team………….
